Erin writes: Molly and I were sitting outside sucking on freezie pops over the weekend… we’re talking back and forth and then Molly says, “Mom – shhhh! I’m trying to listen to the sounds of summer!”

So here’s a quick rundown of what’s been happening in our lives over the past few months. Sorry for the lapse in blogging; I’ll try to do better and jot down those silly everyday moments!

Doug just finished up his crazy Warrior Dash adventure race last weekend… the course was a bit muddy from all the recent rain, but he did great! He’s also been helping out at church by managing the sound and A/V for their youth services. Doug just started a new role at State Farm, and he’s now working in the compliance department.

I (Erin) have been trying to recover from a nasty knee injury that occurred two weeks ago… I tried to take up jogging and my right knee was not too happy about that. I’ll take this as God’s sign to NOT RUN. Got it! Over the summer, I’m doing a book study with some friends and we’re reading “Captivating.” Work is going great – I’m having fun incorporating social media into our communications mix.

Molly is preparing for kindergarten this fall… we’ve decided to send her to Cornerstone Christian Academy. She’s really into dinosaurs right now and is constantly asking very thoughtful questions on just about everything – science, religion, history… we weren’t planning on addressing these topics so early on!

Nora is 2 and living it up. One moment she’s a sweet little angel, the next moment she’s ready to throw a tantrum for not getting her way… sometimes it’s hard to keep a straight face! Right now, she’s fascinated with motorcycles and bicycles and points them out when we’re traveling in the car.

The biggest news in our household lately revolves around our basement being finished. We’re in week 7 and it should be done in just a few days. Carpet was installed today which really makes it look polished and ready to go! I’m excited to get the girls’ craft room up and going.
