So I seem to have the following conversation at least 5 times a day:
“You’re getting BIG! When are you due?”
- Early June, but I’ll probably have a c-section in late May.
“Do you know what you’re having?”
- Yep- we’re expecting another girl.
“Do you have a name picked out?”
- So far, Doug and I have agreed on Nora.
“How old is your first daughter?”
- She just turned 3 in March.
“Is she excited to be a big sister?”
- I think so… she says she’ll share her toys, but we’ll see.
Usually at this point, the woman will share a horrifying near-death story about her own birth experience.
I just want to wear a t-shirt with the following text:
June 3
Girl
Nora
Molly is excited
That would save me a lot of talking. I can just point to the shirt to answer questions… isn’t that brilliant?!

So I broke down and finally did it last week… I took Molly in to get her hair cut. Not just a trim, but REALLY cut! For at least a year and a half now, she has cried and complained when I had to brush her hair. She always has snags in it and brushing them out would always hurt, no matter how much detangler I used. So the only logical solution was to have less hair to comb! Molly now sports a cute little bob style and it just looks so “Molly” to me! She hardly notices when I brush her hair now, and she even wants me to snap in little barettes and clips. Why didn’t I do this a year ago?! Her first reaction when she saw her new haircut in the mirror: “I turned into a boy!”

In other news, I think Doug and I are finally “nesting”… we’ve got 4-5 weeks until we welcome a new baby, so the reality is starting to hit us. I washed all of the baby linens and clothes so they smell nice and fresh. Bought some little newborn diapers and they are so teeny-tiny! Molly is getting excited about being a big sister and says she’ll share all her toys with the baby… we’ll see about that!

Thank goodness the writers’ strike is over… that means that all new episodes of our favorite show, The Office, are back!! And last Thursday’s “Dinner Party” episode did not disappoint. I think Doug and I have watched it at least 3 times, and it just gets funnier and funnier. In the show, Jan plays a song from her former assistant Hunter’s new album. The song is entitled “That One Night” and while it’s cheesy at first, it’s one of those songs that just gets stuck in your head ALL DAY. To listen to the song clip, CLICK HERE. But don’t say I didn’t warn you!

And if you don’t watch The Office, then what is wrong with you?? This has to be one of the funniest shows EVER!! If you missed it, you can catch the “Dinner Party” episode online here: http://www.nbc.com/The_Office/video/episodes.shtml#vid=239103
