Molly found a new friend crawling across the kitchen floor a few days ago. A little ladybug became the object Molly’s full attention for about 10 minutes, leaving me just enough time to grab my camera for some snapshots!

If you’re looking to jazz up your pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving, check out the no-bake “Creamy Two-Layer Pumpkin Pie” recipe from Kraft. I tried it over the weekend and really love it! Doug is a die-hard pumpkin pie purist, so he thought this recipe was too much compared to the original. But if you think ordinary pumpkin pie is a little blah, give this recipe a try!

Our fridge is full of food as we prepare for two Thanksgiving meals… we’re gonna log lots of hours in the kitchen this week!

Sorry I haven’t posted lately… not much new here. Molly is picking up new words left and right, and it’s so fun to watch her figure things out! We’ve “trained” her to respond to these questions:
- “Molly, what does a cow say?” “Mooooooo!”
- “What does a sheep say?” “Baaaaaaa!”
- “What does a dog say?” “Oooofff!” (Can’t pronounce the “w” just yet!)
- “What does a lion say?” “Roaaaaar!” (Accompanied with a lion paw hand motion!)
Doug is really good at teaching her new things like that. I took a “day off” on Saturday and went out shopping for a few hours. It’s just so much easier to maneuver around stores without lugging around a big stroller and “grabby hands”! It was nice to get away, but I missed Doug and Molly and was happy to make it back home.
For those that don’t know, my twin sis Steph is expecting! The little bundle of joy should be arriving in late April!
We get to be hosts for Thanksgiving this year… Doug’s parents and sister are coming down on Thanksgiving, and then my parents, Steph & Jay will be visiting over the weekend. So Doug and I are planning out the menus and have to try out our new oven probe and the convection roast feature… we’re going to practice on a cornish hen and hope that the turkey goes well next week! If you have a great Thanksgiving recipe, let me have it!!
I made my mom’s pumpkin-cranberry bread on Friday and it was YUMMY! I’ll post the recipe on our “Recipes” page.
Well, that’s about all for now! Take care!
