Happy Halloween!

We didn’t take Molly trick-or-treating last year… she was too young and the weather was gross.  So we took her around the block tonight and she really enjoyed grabbing candy and placing it in her basket.  She thought it was a game!  Molly went as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, but she didn’t want to carry her Toto basket for some reason.  Oh well!

So now we really live on the edge of town… last week, we saw the farmer harvesting his cornfield that is beyond our backyard. We’ve also heard coyotes howling a few times, which is kind of spooky around Halloween! And occasionally, we witness an incredible sunset as we sit down for dinner.  It’s so nice to not hear airplanes or cars zooming by anymore!

Molly has been doing all sorts of wacky things lately… she still loves to walk in my shoes and boots, wants to eat everything on her own terms (usually in a very messy way), and crawls into Rudy’s crate and hides out there.  What a little monkey!

Week 1 in the new house went well… I am the type of person who absolutely MUST unpack everything immediately. And yesterday was time to break out the “decorative elements”: candles, picture frames, artwork, tchotchskys (I hope I spelled that correctly!). These are the little touches that make a house a home for me. After I cleaned up the place, I took pictures of some of the rooms that are “done.” (Still trying to find the right bedding for our master bedroom… uugghh!) Molly has been quite the little munchkin lately. Not sure if it’s just a “toddler thing,” but she can get really cranky and moody. I think my parents would say that she inherited that attitude from me! Anyway, she has her fun moments and loves to walk around in my shoes. She also fell in love with a giant Pooh-bear at the Wilsons’ house, so they let her borrow him for a few days! She cuddles and hugs him all the time.
