I remember what I was thinking exactly a year ago… “When will this baby get here?! I want to meet her NOW! I am so tired of being pregnant!!” Molly’s due date had come and gone and I was getting more and more uncomfortable and impatient with each passing day. I think God was trying to teach me a lesson about “enjoying the moment.”
Well, Molly has been my little girl for almost a year now. It is so weird, but time seems to zip by in a flash and yet also stands still at the same time. It seems like ages ago when we had to swaddle Molly for naptime and place her in the swing. But then it seems like just yesterday I was taking her for her first walk around the block.
One year went by too quickly… and now there are only 17 left until she goes out on her own. Each month I say to myself, “Now THIS is my favorite age” but then it just gets better and better.
So in an effort to stop time and relish in the moment, I am snapping pictures and recording video of the everyday things that I will one day yearn for. These are the simple things I will look back on and smile about… my little babe taking a bath, eating peas, chewing on the remote control, squealing with delight when the dogs run past her.
It is good for the soul when we stop and smell the roses.

We have added January and February pictures online, so make sure to check them out! Again, I want to apologize for the huge quantity of pics… I can’t stop using my new camera! As always, you can use the “slideshow” function in the photo gallery, found on the left sidebar. (I think it’s easier to view all the photos this way!)

Molly is now 11 months old and not really a baby anymore… we are officially entering “toddlerhood” and you’ll see in the pictures that she is getting into everything! Molly is usually trying to open drawers, making a break for the stairs or attempting to “play” with the dogs! I take her to swim lessons and music class during the week, so she is having a good time learning new things! I only wish we had some measureable amount of snow to play in… this winter has been very mild for us.

Well, I haven’t posted anything in a while (it’s Doug here). So why post now? What do I have to say that’s so important that the everyone on the Internet needs to see this? Well maybe everyone doesn’t need to see it. But at least it’s available to see. So you’re thinking, “get on with it Doug, get to the point.” Well, suspense is fun and I’m stringing you along on my adventure to possibly nowhere.
Long story short. Since Molly entered our lives, we’ve been watching cartoons again (no, I never stopped watching The Simpsons). One of her favorite shows is Higglytown Heroes. It has these people that run into a problem and they need help from an ordinary hero like a policeman, plumber, librarian, etc. There’s a song that each hero sings that is VERY catchy and sometimes impossible to get out of your mind. So I went searching for the song and got to Disney’s official site for Higglytown Heroes. And with all web sites started playing around with the features. Well, here’s the result…I made a Higglytown Hero for Erin “Schmoopie”. Thought you might enjoy it.
